1998 H-D FLTRi 80” Custom w/ 24,113 Miles
The 1998 FLTRi marked the historic debut of the Harley-Davidson Road Glide, succeeding the discontinued Tour Glide series. It introduced the iconic, frame-mounted "Sharknose" fairing which isolated wind buffeting from the handlebars for improved touring stability. As a one-year mechanical anomaly, it stands as the only Road Glide model to feature the 1340cc Evolution engine paired with electronic fuel injection ("i") before Harley transitioned to the Twin Cam 88 motor. This particular example was fully customized back in the day and still exudes coolness. The first thing that was done was to wake it up with a high flow air filter and a Bub true dual exhaust system that makes it sound like a Harley should. It has a color matched Laser Red Pearl King Tour Pak and extended saddle bags both of which were installed before the bike was sent out for custom paint. The painter added real looking flames that out are outlined with Blue Metallic pinstripes and really make this bike pop. It has a sweet set of polished billet rims as well as an extensive list of chrome upgrades which include the front end, axle covers, 8” mini apes, turn indicator visors, levers, switch housing covers, master cylinder cover, upgraded H-D mirrors, Avon ISO grips, custom highway pegs, matching shift lever, transmission covers and a complete set of upgraded H-D floorboards with matching brake pedal as well as matching H-D covers for the air cleaner, primary, center primary and the timers. You will also appreciate the mini black antenna that looks like a 5.3” bullet and the black LED Daymaker headlights not only sweet but also really work well. It has been recently serviced at which time it received new tires, new brakes, a new battery as well as new fluids and filters. There are a few nicks and bruises from the days past but everything is intact and in proper working order. Not only that but it only has 24,113 original miles.
