1956 Ford Thunderbird with 79,884 Miles

The Thunderbird was first released by Ford in 1955 and was designed to be a stylish personal luxury car that blended sporty performance with an unmistakable American flair. By 1956 it had already become an icon celebrated for its sleek lines, it’s exhilarating feel and timeless presence. This car was originally Thunderbird Grey. During the late 60’s the 2nd owner wanted to purchase a Flamingo Pink but could not find one for sale anywhere. He stumbled across this car with low miles and it was in amazing condition so he decided he was going to have the color changed. It wasn’t just repainted everything was changed including the engine bay, door jambs, interior, etc. The 3rd owner purchased it in 1975 and has owned it since. It retains its original driveline with a 312ci V8 that runs incredibly well and a 3-speed manual transmission that still shifts crisply. In fact, everything is original to the car except for the radiator, electric fuel pump, the downturn exhaust tips and the normal wear and tear items. The car has mostly been used for parades and Sunday cruises. It has been serviced annually even though it has only been driven a few hundred miles each year. The tires are about 10 years old but barely have a thousand miles on them. The original interior is showing its age but it perfect if you a looking for a driver. The same would go with the Flamingo Pink paint job. You can drive it as it is or it would be a great candidate for a full restoration. We have priced it accordingly so if you like what you see we encourage you to reach out before someone else beats you to it!
