1955 International Harvester R-132 Pick-Up
The R series was a truck manufactured by International Harvester starting in 1953 which replaced the L series. There were few mechanical changes in the R line as the changes were mostly aesthetic. This particular example was restored within the last year at which time both the 6 cylinder engine and 4 speed transmission were rebuilt. The engine is believed to be its original 220ci Little Silver Diamond which performs quite impressively. The body work was done to eliminate rust but is not the basis for a show quality paint job which explains the finish you see. It was completely rewired and starts right up without hesitation. The brakes are all new as well and the suspension was completely gone through too. It was just on a 100 mile trip and ran incredibly well. It has custom leather bucket seats, a set of custom rims, a custom wood flat bed with a matching tool box and a custom fuel tank mounted on top. It does need door glass and windshield wipers which will be the responsibility of the new owner. The frames for the door glass as well as the original uncovered bench seat, the original gas tank and a few other misc. parts will be included with your purchase. Based on the current NADA values we would appraise this vehicle at $16,500. We know this is a buyer’s market and we are serious about selling as you can see by the price. If you like what you see you better not wait to call as it might be too late!
