1955 Chevy Bel-Air LS Resto Mod

The introduction of the 1955 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe was an instant hit that launched the iconic Tri-Five era because of its sleek new shoebox styling and the debut of Chevrolet's legendary small-block V8 engine. It’s style, performance and affordability made it a symbol of 1950s Americana and a highly sought-after collector car today. This particular example is one of the best built resto mods that we have had the pleasure of offering. The heart of this street rod is a LS1 engine from a 2002 SS Camaro estimated to produce 350hp. It is mated to the 4L60E 4 speed auto tranny from the same Camaro and it has a new 9” posi rear end with 3:50 Strange gears. Both the engine and tranny were completely serviced with all new gaskets, seals, fluids and filters before being installed. The engine bay has been very nicely updated with tons of extra chrome, billet, anodized and painted parts giving it tons of bling. It has its original frame that was modified for the updated driveline as well as the parallel 4 bar rear suspension, A-arm front suspension, coil over shocks on all 4 corners, 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes and power rack and pinion steering. After being modified the frame was cleaned up and powder coated. Everything else on the bottom side of the car is painted or polished including the A-arm front suspension. The interior is gorgeous with a two-tone Blue and Light Gray seats and door panels, a matching package tray with a bow-tie stitched into it and a ribbed headliner that compliments the rest of the interior. All of the chrome is in excellent condition, the center dash gauges are all digital and it has a Speedhut digital speedometer and tachometer both with analog faces. Other amenities include the seat belts with custom mounted shoulder harnesses, the push button ignition, the B&M Quicksilver shifter, the Vintage Air heat and a/c which blows ice cold, the power windows and the cruise control with the Dakota Digital dash mounted controller. From the exterior you will appreciate the tinted windows that look great with the gorgeous two-tone Indigo Blue Metallic and Silver Metallic paint as well as all of the chrome trim which is in perfect condition. The 15” American Racing Torque Thrust D staggered rims really pull the whole look together with 10’ wide rims on the rear wrapped in massive 28”X12” drag radials and 6” wide rims up front with 26”X8” tires. You will also appreciate the LED headlights with halos and the rear trunk emblem is also a 3rd brake light. All said and done well over $100,000 has been invested in bringing this dream to fruition. It has been driven 3,281 miles since being completed and the quality of the build still shines through as everything is in perfect working order and has held up amazingly well. If you have been looking for a turn key resto mod you will be hard pressed to find a nicer one for less so if you like what you see we suggest you reach out before it is too late!
